The Itassi Tourism Environmental and Development Committee is a community group in the village of Vieille Case. It was originally formed in 1996 and registered under the name North Eastern Tourism Committee. There are currently 10 active members.
The group’s main activity is to encourage more visitors to the local sites, to form alliances with other service providers in the area (such as the Augustine Guest House), and to promote attractions such as the scenic view from the Au Parc Pool.
Vieille Case is an historically important location. It was the last Carib stronghold, the first mass in Dominica was held at its Catholic Church, and the first Premier of Dominica came from that village. Read more about the area’s history here.
